America is not a Christian nation.

America is a nation where the rich and powerful have reduced Christianity to just another tool to exploit for their own interests at the expense of the very people Jesus called us to serve: the poor, the hungry, the sick, the stranger, and the oppressed.

I really wish reporters would stop saying that there is an effort by the Trump administration to combat antisemitism. It is quite the opposite. There is an effort to foment antisemitism.

One of the reasons you cannot and should not react to the wild swings of the Trump administration against higher education is because most of those swings will ultimately miss, case in point, that Dear Colleague letter targeting "DEI." www.insidehighered.com/news/governm...
Education Department’s Anti-DEI Guidance Blocked
Several colleges scrubbed their campuses and websites of DEI-related language and shuttered offices in order to comply with the letter's sweeping demands.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

It will never be enough. The goal is to break the University, not have them meet demands.

Taunting Columbia with the hope of compliance just sweetens the pot with humiliation.
In the NYT right now, from a Justice Dept lawyer: “I will tell you right now that Columbia has not in my opinion — and the opinion of the Department of Justice — has not cleaned up their act,” Mr. Terrell said. “They’re not even close, not even close to having those funds unfrozen.”
