Just learned today that the company I worked for for the past year and did many, many designs for (art and otherwise) will likely not include my name in the credits as per 'industry standard', because I was let go.

Pet parrots were taught to do video calls, and it was a hit.
The birds not only made friends with each other, and selected who they wanted to call and when, but also picked up new skills from fellow parrots.
Good enrichment option for improving captive parrot welfare.

I remember once at EA, a senior producer put a build of our game into the hands of his perpetually sullen 10 year old kid who after 10 minutes said this game sucks and so we were asked to throw out 9 months of work. Playtests had gone great but oh well.
The biggest waste of money I’ve seen in video game development, across many years and studios (not my current one - one of the reasons I wanted to work there), wasn’t on graphics. It was abruptly being told to throw out months or years of work bc one executive decided they didn’t like something.
