Donald Trump shared a love of young, nubile girls with Epstein (and Larry Nassar).

Any plans to cover that? @cnn.com @nytimes.com @nbcnews.com @cbsnews.com @reuters.com @apnews.com

Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.

You do not in fact have to praise the guy who said homeless people should be murdered with lethal injections and then apologized four days later to save his job. Let's get a grip here.
Brian Kilmeade deserves praise for his apology.
Brian Kilmeade apologized for his comments about homeless people getting lethal injections this morning on Fox & Friends, saying "so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion."

Here's the clip of his apology 👇

Now that Kirk's killer seems to be caught, maybe the news could spare a moment's attention for the right wing, from the commentariat up to the GOP and president, whose immediate reaction was not mourning, but to seize the opportunity to try to incite violence against groups they hate

The murder of Charlie Kirk is terrible for our country. Violence is not the answer.
To learn from this, let's not fictionalize who Kirk was.
A day before his death, he said: "Islam is the sword the left is using to slit the throat of America."
That's not respectful speech. That's violent rhetoric.

Ezra Klein is trying in this column to argue that Kirk was doing politics correctly if you just ignore the content of what he was advocating. That he was contributing to American democracy by arguing civilly for the subjugation of women, gay people, trans people. It simply doesn’t work.
I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Charlie Kirk’s ultimate goal, which he said time and time again, would have been the suppression, through threat of violence and the use of state power, of the rights of those he disagreed with, including freedom of expression.

Opinion | Charlie Kirk Was Practicing Politics the Right Way

@nytimes.com

#Kirk did NOT practice politics the right way. It's an embarrassment to say that.

Within his #1stAmendment rights, yes. He should NOT have been killed for it.

His speech was inflammatory and divisive, purposefully, for his own enrichment. His brand was selfish and bad for politics.
September 11, 2025 at 2:17 PM
There's a saying, common amongst #2ndAmendment advocates, "an armed society is a polite society."

Those same people, at some point, decided that being polite was "woke".

Now we have an impolite society that's armed to the teeth.

With that in mind, today was not surprising.

Political violence doesn't happen in isolation.

It's important to understand why something happens, and sometimes those are difficult conversations.

Political violence has different forms, and I think it's far more common than people are willing to realize.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov's take on Kirk is the correct one:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

On point. So glad Democrats are saying this.

They refused a curfew, spread protests across all cities, fought police in roaming street battles, burnt down politicians' houses, stole military weapons, stormed the parliament & burnt it, forced the PM to resign.

It's difficult to stay optimistic, not just because of what we're losing, but because it's clear the things needed to recover and protect them are just not feasible.

This country needs to radically rewrite its system of government.

How does that happen without blood?
