I feel a lot better about my frustration with trying to pick up Go templating reading this from the literal author of confd.
The Go template documentation is well written but lacks enough examples to go from zero to one. So I got in the habit of searching for examples instead of referencing the docs, but that left some knowledge gaps that I'm hoping to close today.
