As someone who lives in a rural area, the “Big Cities = Crimes!” narrative makes me roll my eyes.
I’ve seen open/obvious drug trafficking (meth, fentanyl, opioids), targeted violence, domestic abuse, child neglect, car theft, petty theft, etc. — and I didn’t have to go to the big city to see it.
