RW nitwits are always tossing the words 'socialist' and 'communist' around with no idea what they are or what they even mean. The types who choose dumb over smart and meet to guzzle draft beer at Hooters to 'own the Libs' and hate on those lying scientists and the 'greedy' public sector workers.

Netflix is planning to buy Warner Bros for $72 billion, allowing it to acquire its major competitor HBO Max.

This corporate monopoly will be great for Netflix’s executives and a raw deal for everyone else.

What do we as Canadian Conservative MP's stand for??
We proudly stand for the destruction of unions, of health care, for reducing worker's wages and benefits and, as we are proving in Parliament today, for pushing religious intolerance up everyone’s butt with a snow shovel.
Merry Christmas!!

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1965: 20-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1990: 75-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio today: 280-to-1

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.

What's the one #Winnipeg ( or #Manitoba ) restaurant that's your absolute go-to?

Looking to expand my ever-changing eatery map and I'd love to hear fresh suggestions. Okay, if you have two suggestions, or more, I won't disqualify you! #FriendlyManitoba

What Poilievre's Con Party don't tell you about 'bail' is that offenders are getting it because of shortages of judges, court staff and crown attorneys, much of which is up to provinces. Provinces appoint provincial judges. Provincial Crown attorneys are hired by the provincial AG Ministry.

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

All of this crap started with Reagan .. if not for his Republican trickle down economics (huge tax cuts for the rich subsidized by everyone else) attack on working people, which Republican and Conservative politicians have now maintained for decades, the average wage today would be $150K+

I'm constantly running into people who say things like "I don't mean to be political, but" because they've been brow beaten into believing that discussing politics as impolite

which I think has benefitted the right wing and helped them normalize being foundationally terrible fucking people
THIS. You don't have to turn every gathering into a meme-fest but at some point it became gauche to talk about stuff that matters.

When you prize social passivity above all else, and make it rude to point out bigotry, and penalize people for having strong convictions, you end up ... here.
I come back a lot to the idea that "no politics at the dinner table" was harmful and let this kind of shitty ideology fester undiscussed

This should apply to Canada as well as today’s conservatives are doing this to young Canadians
AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.

This is a really useful table from the folks at IFSD — especially if we're about to talk a lot about public debt and the cost of carrying that debt.

A nationwide backlash to AI data centers is brewing.

And for good reason: while AI enriches Big Tech CEOs and props up the stock market, data centers are sucking up communities’ water and power.

When the AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag. Be warned.

Rachel with truth bombs!
Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack in Israel “plunged the region into a devastating war.”

That’s how an Associated Press article opens – one that some of Canada’s largest news outlets published today.

But Oct. 7 wasn’t the day this started.

Today, with @cjjpmedia.bsky.social, I'm giving a history lesson:
