every person saved from state execution is a victory and it’s delusional to say that commuting 37 of 40 is somehow worse than not commuting any. however, it is absolutely indicative of their pathological inability to take a clear stance on any issue, ever.

We shouldn’t accept that a CEO killer must get a national manhunt when cops don’t solve most murders at all. A migrant teenager was just murdered in NYC, cops just killed a guy here — the lives of these other people are worth just as much as that CEO.

fwiw i think it is actually a real problem that left wing politics is often equated to a kind of bohemian cultural aesthetic and vice versa.

The thing about right wingers is most of them don't actually like the capitalist system they're supporting that's why right wing leaders so often lean on cultural issues and racism and misogyny

declaring martial law is a bold move in a country addicted to imprisoning its former leaders

I am such a believer in this. Down-ballot is the way.

It’s also how we build a sustainable future of good leaders and infrastructure to elect and support them, as well as the movements they represent.

We don’t just need strong candidates. We need strong organizers, managers, CoS, grassroots, etc.
I’ve been organizing in rural areas since the first Trump administration. Rural Dems can make the difference in races at the top of the ticket.

Republicans have all of the electorate they’re ever going to have. Organize to turn out 5% to 10% more Dems in rural spaces. Watch what happens…

supposing I had 10% of what liberals spent on ads in 2024 (which comes to ~$500m), one thing I would do is set up a full fat local newspaper in NEPA, Grand Rapids, Tucson, and Green Bay, with no content posted online, and give every nearby resident a free trial sub

Trump's cabinet (and really the next decade of our politics) will make a lot more sense you know the word "diagonalism"

a fun thing about trump being an unpredictable moron with few real beliefs will be that if dems win both houses in 26 and do the usual out-party thing of sending messaging bills that they expect to get vetoed, he might just sign some of them if they cross his desk at the right time.
