Holy shit! You’ve got to see this town hall. Republicans are starting to get torn apart by their own constituents.

Rep. Rich McCormick: “You don’t think I’m going to stand up for you?”

Woman in the crowd: “You need to stand up.”

Another woman: “Don’t bend over.” 🔥

WOW. NBC News is reporting that more than half of the Republican Senate caucus privately admits that the Gaetz nomination will not succeed.

We have to remember that, traditionally, an incoming administration awards the various constituencies that got it elected with some sort of representation.

So the tech bros get Elon, anti-vax freaks get RFK Jr, dog killers get Noem, white nationalists get Hegseth, pedophiles get Gaetz...

Admittedly I’m no expert in gender politics and I’m just a guy but I’m pretty sure that the election to the presidency of a man found by a federal jury to have forcibly penetrated a woman’s vagina with his hands in a department store dressing room isn’t a great thing for women.

fun day to remember that the political media decided it was more important to tell the public about tim walz' retirement from the national guard than trump's former chief of staff and four star general saying he was a fascist who didn't respect US soldiers ("caught and killed" by the NYT)

To expand on this—a good chunk of my childhood was very conservative. I genuinely internalized that gay people existed from reading Mercedes Lackey novels. The book that most radicalized me was ALWAYS COMING HOME. And Pratchett crystallized more of my thinking about life than any class I ever took.
