This is the sort of thing where Dems on higher education committees should be saying things like they view this as illegal, and expect they will withdraw funds from schools who go along with Trump when they regain power.

on the electoral side of things, this is why you need a loud opposition party saying they reject this and will not stand for it. that this country should be safe for people from korea as new immigrants but also for longstanding korean americans.

The improvement was immediate, and dramatic.

Kids poured into the street...

For a host of reasons, it's outrageous that Republicans are on the warpath against renewables. It's outright sabotage of the American economy in favor of our enemies, global warming, and a handful of exceptionally dim investors with their money tied up in more-expensive-per-kW fossil fuel energy.
One of the best ways to cripple Russia’s ambitions longterm would be to moonshot renewables development then spread the tech everywhere super-cheap. Russia produces nothing of significance beyond oil and gas. The economy would tank. Plus a huge win in the fight against the climate crisis.

This is also an example of the challenges of the "mid-transition" - frictions and messiness as we simultaneously have to maintain the legacy energy system, as we transition to a new one.

"Using tax records to hunt down migrants is not just a violation of some specific data-management laws of the IRS. It's a rejection of the entire concept of lawful government. It means that the United States can't be trusted to honor its established everyday obligations to the people here."

"the progress [] should encourage us that progress is possible, but the large & growing gap between where we are headed today & what is needed to limit warming to well-below 2C means we need to ...light a (carbon-free) fire under policymakers to ratchet up emissions reductions over the next decade."

Hey y'all. As you may know, WNR started on Twitter. I've no regrets on bailing on Twitter in late 2022, but I've missed the format; it was a great medium for the ride, and I'm happy to return to the old-school UI for its nimble chattiness. TY @frankiannuzzi.bsky.social for setting us up here! SZ
