I don't blame people for not paying too close attention, but it was obvious to me that Elon was a fraud when he started saying that the solution to traffic was cars in tunnels, as if such a thing hasn't existed since the Holland Tunnel opened in 1927.
this is what long-time Elon watchers call "The Realization": when Elon stumbles into your area of expertise, and you realize everyone just gives the guy the benefit of the doubt because he talks about complicated things people don't pay attention to
