Congress is the agent of the people! it can designate the way in which the executive branch will execute, including powerful walls of separation btwn the President + other officers. Madison himself signed off on the BUS charter because its constitutionality was liquidated by Congressional consensus!

i think powell's response here is a demonstration of the folly of the idea that democratic accountability requires presidential control. what if the president is not acting in the public interest? you want independent agencies to be able to push back and pursue their *congressional mandate*

Funniest encounter today was the giant ICE SUV full of masked dudes who spent 20 minutes whipping around Uptown trying to lose the tail (my doughty little Fit), at one point turning the wrong way onto a one-way street, before fleeing on to I35 and finally finding a state trooper to park/hide behind
