On average age of starting XIs, Liverpool have been older than City and Arsenal this season.

But factor in how much club football the squads have played in their careers and it’s a different story.

The Relative Age of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City
Pep Guardiola recently selected his joint-youngest Manchester City side. How does the relative age profile of the City, Arsenal and Liverpool squads look?

Barcelona are a completely batshit team that turn games into track meets and concede comedy goals because of it.

I love them and they should keep doing the same thing.

I love Barcelona's crazy high defensive line
Rethink strategy after conceding 4 goals? Absolutely not.

One of the most interesting pieces of analysis I've ever done imo: a look at why Bodø/Glimt's players generally tend to do poorly after moving to a bigger league despite all their recent domestic success for @analyticsfc.bsky.social:

There’s loads of talk of recruitment to suit systems and data analytics with Hearts about to get access to the Jamestown data.

However, not many are talking about how well Dundee United and Jim Goodwin recruited this summer, until now 👇🏻

We've got a great matchup this weekend — Arsenal finally have Martin Ødegaard fit again, and they're taking on a Forest side that's great at defending deep.

Arsenal need the best version of Martin Ødegaard back
They're just pretty mid without him.

Dejan Kulusevski's lack of pace hindered him as a winger, and he was linked to a move away from Tottenham this summer.

Instead of selling Kulusevski, Ange Postecoglou moved him to central midfield. @moesquare.bsky.social on how that's saved his Spurs career:

A position change has rejuvenated Dejan Kulusevski
If a winger isn't fast and can't dribble past people, maybe try moving them inside.

A fee of around €10million for Nypan will turn out to be an absolute bargain.

Still only 17, he's putting up some serious numbers in the Eliteserian in 2024. Amongst midfielders he ranks 3rd for goal contributions (14), 5th for successful dribbles (35) & 7th for duels won (139) to highlight a few.🔥
