I get that for able bodied social media is just another socialising tool, so it is easy to say it is not necessary. This is not the case for vulnerable people, though. Chronic illness and disability in a world short on accommodations result in a lot of isolation and social media is important for us.

a lot of people say about disability, even the kindest people, "I look past disability and I see the real person." Let me give you a word of advice, friends... many of us want you to look directly at our disabilities. They make us the people we are.
