Spectacular sunset. On a hunch, I went out for sunset last night. I got lucky and recorded one of the most colourful sunsets I have ever seen. These colours are what came out on the RAW file, the only thing I have done is lift the exposure on the foreground. I have lots more images to process.

Some morning calm for a Wednesday. Bitterly cold but not a breathe of wind.

🦉Owl lovers unite! Completely struck by this lovely depiction of an owl in the choir stalls at Wakefield Cathedral, Yorkshire. Wise, still and timeless...

Beyond the Bay - Kentra Bay, Arivegaig, #Ardnamurchan

A distant view of Kentra Bay from the hills above Arivegaig, with the peaks of the Small Isle of Rùm beyond the bay’s entrance sitting under a sky filled with golden and pink hues from a setting sun.

The ingenious bamboo technology used to water rice Paddys are strangely hypnotic in the heat and humidity of Vietnam.

The Keshcarrigan Bowl • Leitrim • c.1st Century AD

This bronze bowl was discovered in a tributary of the River Shannon in Leitrim.

If you look closely at its handle, you can see it is shaped to look like a bird's head with a curving neck, like a swan or duck.
