but apparently, at least into the 1990s, GB was still chill about letting kids get worms as long as said worms were considered pretty harmless! it's really interesting to think that this may have been the reason behind that policy (these were not impoverished kids).

my english spouse has told me stories of going to sleepaway camp as a kid and being uncomfortable that another camper would writhe and cry out during the night bc her intestinal worms had crawled out into her underpants and started squirming around. at first, i assumed this was some kind of metaphor

🧵 when people get stuck here, that's when we see major distress and complications and difficulty. Just let people grieve. Stop trying to fix it. Stop trying to have an answer for loss and grief. Be there for them. Offer love and support and space for their mourning. We don't need crappy AI.

🧵 it's holding you in a particular part of your grief and doing so without showing natural thoughts and feelings to be processed. It's not dissimilar to some of the concerns that can arise when a person visits psychics and mediums. (With some world room for personal beliefs).
