BREAKING: Trump has caved on imposing tariffs on Canada, following his earlier announcement regarding Mexico today. Tariffs on both countries will now be delayed until April 2.

I really want to try to get more active on this site, and use it to more actively and intentionally cultivate my feed towards my interests- nerdy, like ttrpg, actual plays (yes listening? but I’d love to be on one,) podcasting in general (both listening and creating.) but also politics and life.

Federal civilian employees account for just 4% of the federal budget. Even if someone like Musk—or any president—fired all of us, it wouldn’t make much of a dent in government spending. Don’t fall for it.

USAID’s website has been deleted, all that is left is a note saying all personnel are now on administrative leave and personnel outside the US are to be brought home. Completely illegal, no act of congress or even executive order was signed to dismantle the agency

Please be careful if you’re going to a 50501 protest tomorrow. Something doesn’t seem right about them. Typically with a large scale nationwide protest we’d know who (or what entity) was organizing, and we do not. I worry it could be a bad faith effort to get resistors in one place on a [1/?]

USAID.gov is down. Why is this concerning? Trump has no legal authority to eliminate a congressionally funded independent agency. The work of USAID is vital, and if this can happen to them, it can happen to any of us.
