This past Saturday my kids went to the birthday party of a boy who is on our oldest son’s team. While there his older brother was talking about the fishing team he participates on for his school. Our oldest spoke to me about it and said he’d love to do something like that. Checked the schools -

I’m volunteering at the book fair at my kid’s school, and discovered Dav Pilkey paid for the whole thing.
For the entire school.
Every kid pre-k through fifth grade (the whole school) goes home with two free books.

What a blessing!
My husband got off from work, went to his parents home, dressed up like the prince from Snow White, and came home and surprised the kids. Even the boys were impressed, but the girls are over the moon. There are even more surprises to come, but it’s off to the movies we go tonight.

Homeschoolers, I hope you’re registered for Kids Bowl Free. It is a great way to get your kids out and for them to burn off some energy, but also, it’s educational. Make it a learning process. Teach the muscles used when bowling. Teach how the scoring works. We take full advantage over here.

I always find it peculiar that people find it fascinating that my children know their clothing sizes. I mean I feel like that’s information they should know. I don’t find it peculiar that people look at them funny when they tell other kids that a baby isn’t in their mom’s tummy but her uterus. 😂😂

Black homeschoolers, even if your state laws don’t require you to keep records, DO IT ANYWAY. Document everything. Use a system that works for you. If you’re just starting out, do what you can and it will develop, but keep those records.

People always ask me what Bible curriculum I use. I don’t use one. My husband is a pastor. My kids are in church all the time. One thing about children is that if you push them too hard towards something, sometimes they’ll push back. But if you want to incorporate Bible into your homeschooling -

As a homeschooling parent, I do this same thing. We have a room set aside that is the kids’ workspace but my area is elsewhere in our home. I want to be accessible to our children but I don’t want to be a crutch. They know where to find me if they have questions.

This proposed ban on TikTok is exactly why I have had a long conversation with my children regarding content creation and the risks. Besides me not wanting them plastered all over the internet (which is why I don’t do it myself), these platforms are just not guaranteed to be around.
