A photo of our cat, Kiki. She's a purebred ragdoll cat. Her sinuses are swollen due to a mass in her sinuses that have caused her to have to breathe through her mouth, and can barely open her eyes. She's trying to rest on the cat bed on my desk after being given some pain meds.

I turned away from drinking in the firehose of bad news last night to take my telescope out to a dark clearing in the forest. It was a bit cold, 4 degrees F, but stars shined bright overhead.🔭🧪
A roughly rose-shaped and rose-colored nebula with an open cluster of bright young stars in its central dark space. This is the Rosette nebula, Caldwell 49, in the Monoceros constellation.

We’re also in the process of making recycled paper with some good ol’ card stock and Bristol so that’s super exciting. I’m hoping the renewed Bristol mix will allow for more cyanotypes. That’s the hope at least.
Tub of torn old card stock paper filled with water that will be blended and used for recycled paper. Two freezer bags filled with torn paper to be used for recycled paper. The top bag has old Bristol paper and the bottom bag has ivory card stock.

It’s a really nice day out and I had 3 hours of sleep because I had too much coffee yesterday so I’m up making wet cyanotypes outside. I’ll try to leave them out for at least an hour and see what kind of results I get. This may or may not become an obsession.

we’ll be at the Historic Jefferson Hotel for the Jefferson Art Walk on March 15th!

The hotel itself has themed rooms of all kinds and is said to be haunted, so it’s just an absolutely perfect place to showcase our work 🖤
