If we could have lived peacefully, separately, we would have! The problems have always been the need to destroy us when they see us succeeding!

Segregation was never just separate facilities
It was paying more & getting less in your neighborhood
It was getting the Phd, but still not getting hired
It was needing police for the police
It was building up a newspaper & having it burned (Wells)
It was building a school & having it shot up (JSU)

I keep seeing all of these white folks applauding a 77-year-old Al Green for getting thrown out. Yes, he was brave. But why aren't white Reps doing this? Even now, white ppl have the power to end all of this. If you think we are going to let you sacrifice our elders you have another thing coming.

If you have lost power in Kentucky due to flooding and are using a portable generator, remember to keep it outdoors. Do not run it in your garage even with the door open. Portable generators can produce deadly levels of carbon monoxide in minutes.

I can't stop thinking about Kendrick's performance and how poetic and symbolic it was and how much I don't care if you didn't like it, because you liking it wasn't really the point.

Samuel L Jackson's personal history of political activism is relevant. He was an usher at MLK Jr's funeral. He was also part of a protest group that took the board of Moorehouse College hostage to demand reforms to the curriculum and governance back in 1969, and soon after joined the Black Panthers

"The halftime show was boring."

Look, you may not be familiar with the genius of Kendrick Lamar and couldn't quite hear the lyrics and don't know the backstory and the symbolism went over your head, but trust me when I say you'll want to read an analysis of it and rewatch. A true masterpiece.

I think an American flag created entirely by black men at the Superbowl is one of the best pieces of art I've seen in my lifetime. I hope it actually killed some folks. And I hope it finally closes the fucking book on the argument that we shouldn't use the flag to fight the God damned fascists.

I love that the performance's storyline was about race and how to play the game in America, Kendrick does the opposite of everything Samuel tells him to do and still wins
