Yes.
Does anyone else think they are seeing post-acceptance editorial changes at proof stage which are error-prone and probably due to adoption of AI?

There are people who believe knowledge is about accumulating facts. Then there are people who realize knowledge is learning how to think about those facts. The former is transactional learning. The latter is real.
So our campus just announced the six undergraduate programs being put on the chopping block.

One of them is Philosophy.

Philosophy.

Can we be a university without offering a Philosophy major?

Cartoon full of misinformation in the Guardian.

We have the tools to prevent sickness. The real denial is ignoring that high quality masks and vaccines reduce infections. This isn’t hard.

Hard-hitting truth-telling from UCL Prof Anthony Costello….

“The Covid Public Inquiry is a devastating critique of medical advisers, civil servants and politicians who led the UK to the worst public health disaster in a century. More than 230,000 deaths.”

I’ve been thinking so much about this. A class I was in last year did an exercise applying a Black Mirror episode to surveillance capitalism tech, and my contribution was “what if the chatbot with your dearly departed grandpa starts casually mentioning how much he enjoyed a cold Pepsi on a hot day”

This sums up the absurdity of the whole anti-vax argument.
Yes, every medicine comes with some level of risk.
But that risk is lower than that of not using the medicine.
It comes down to a simple question: do you want you (or your children) to take the small risk or the much higher one?

Adam Wagner asks questions for the CV/CEV families and receives entirely unsatisfactory answers from Whitty.

Whitty says they didn't see kids in late 2020 as CV any more, and that, somehow, kids could no longer pass covid onto their CV parents, at least not at "an epidemiological level" 🤔

I've decided to stop trusting experts.

Really looking forward to my forthcoming surgery being carried out by my mate Dave.
He's not an expert surgeon, but he is quite good with a chainsaw and has watched several series of House.

Who needs experts?

Once research stops, some won't pick up where they left off. Even when terminated funding was reinstated, things do not go back to normal.
