4. As such, a relatively low-cost intervention to reduce pressure on the system is to reduce airborne nosocomial infections. High-quality HEPA should be running at all times in all hospital areas, and FFP2 minimum required for all staff.

We should know this by now.

3. If a patient acquires Covid-19 in hospital, especially in the context of a co-infection with influenza, it is likely that their hospital stay will be longer than if they had not acquired Covid-19. The same principle holds for any airborne nosocomial infection.

4. This is simple stuff. HEPA in all public spaces, encouraging masking when visiting the elderly or vulnerable (especially when visiting care or nursing homes), and staying home when unwell.

There is no question people here are dying who otherwise would not have.

When I told my granddaughter (age 5yrs) I would be wearing a mask to her nativity show she replied ‘oh granny that is good & no one will notice’. She is so used to mask wearing in our family
