Listen. I, like any Welsh-speaking child in the 90s, learnt basic English the way God intended: by playing Nintendo games on my siblings' GameBoys.

The reversal of this concept is how I reckon the Welsh Government can not just achieve Cymraeg 2050, but smash the target into smithereens.

I really need to put more effort into building myself a decent BlueSky feed. My Twitter one was a perfect blend of Trydar Cymraeg, YouTube personalities who were big in 2012 and nice cat owners in Cardiff who'd let me catsit for them.

I built a utopia, but I fear the tools I used no longer exist.

Hello! Back after *checks calendar* fifteen months. Won't lie, I briefly forgot that Bluesky exists, but I forgot about Threads for even longer so that's something.

I wonder if it’s just going to be Facebook all over again, with one app catering to so-called “normies” (but in a more Twitter-like format) and one that appeals more to a smaller demographic of weirdos but still has cultural influence

I prefer Bluesky.

This is absolutely hilarious to me. They pushed it so hard because they needed it to catch on, not because it was actually catching on at all

$470 made GLOBALLY 😂😂

Losing access to TweetDeck is genuinely a massive blow for smaller organisations that simply cannot (and don't want to) justify paying for verification, but until a fully accessible competitor appears, we're bloody lumped with the bird site.
In more bird site news:

I really want to stress pushing your electeds/local governments to rethink how their offices communicate with the general public, especially when it comes to emergencies.

A lot of the decision makers don't realize what's happening with Twitter, and their digital folks -
Twitter said only verified users will be able to access TweetDeck after 30 days
Twitter started rolling a new version of TweetDeck Monday and said that it will be a verified-only feature in 30 days.
