I wonder if it’s just going to be Facebook all over again, with one app catering to so-called “normies” (but in a more Twitter-like format) and one that appeals more to a smaller demographic of weirdos but still has cultural influence

I'll keep exploring our options, mind. After all, TikTok didn't become an 'acceptable' place for corporations and organisations to have an account until 2020 or even later, so I guess it's just a matter of waiting for one Twitter competitor to outshine the others.

Bluesky is my ideal replacement so far, but the fact it's still invite-only means I can't make the call to shift my work's online presence here. Mastodon is generally too complex for your standard not-chronically-online user to use, and Threads is off-putting for many as it's tied to Instagram.
