You guys. I’m a hundred years late to the party, but how come no one told me how freaking good Dracula (the original novel) is? I’m halfway through and it completely holds up as an exciting read. (I do have some notes on Stoker’s writing of women, so maybe not completely. But still.)

How can Sarah Kendzior be kicked off this site? That is some BlueShyt!
In a rare case of Substack notes usefulness, I just learned that Sarah Kendzior (author of They Knew and a brilliant writer) got bounced from Bluesky. What the hell? new @sarahkendzior.bsky.social

If real life is anything like television, I'm the boring brother-in-law who has two lines in episode 1, but is only seen sitting on a couch arm for the next 6 episodes before being accused & having his life ripped apart in the final episode just before the real murderer is revealed. #IsTVLife?

Seldom has an #Oilers team less deserved a win. Brutal performance. But it likely feels good for everyone in the building except the #BLueJackets

Three times the #OIlers have been totally pinned in their zone. Finally, the other guys capitalize.

Anyone else have a hard time watching this broadcast? #Oilers Mostly looks okay but a bit 'jerky'- like when you watch the puck it kind of lags, like the old Fox comet tail. Just me? And the Oil's struggles continue- they aren't winning many battles here.

Pukka Orchestra - "Listen To The Radio"
To be fair, music/songs are not mentioned in the song- but dang, to me it is all about late night sounds.

This is entirely the fault of Pierre Poilievre, conservatives and right wing nut jobs.
They managed to turn health and science into a political issue.
And sadly people were all to willing to be misled.
When did Canadians become so gullible and stupid?

Day 1200 #CDsOnTheShelf #MusicChallenge #Bluegrass 1200 days, about 4800 manufactured CDs-we're about 2/3 there I'd guess. A final Cedar Hill...why spread over 3 days will forever be a mystery of my shelf. An excellent live album from a younger Shawn Camp, & the Travis Chandler disc is pretty good.

Entirely unrelated, has anyone seen either of my reading glasses? Anyone? It has been a full day...
What made the whole thing even more surreal/amazing was, i also found my og Come Home, What For & Ya Ho 12"s - all had been wall displayed, went unsold, got covered by another then another record & sat there untouched for nearly 2 decades until i found them again.
i knew it was mine because the inside of the sleeve bore the date of purchase, in pencil, in my handwriting. Something i used to do with all my record purchases when i was a youngster.
