You guys. I’m a hundred years late to the party, but how come no one told me how freaking good Dracula (the original novel) is? I’m halfway through and it completely holds up as an exciting read. (I do have some notes on Stoker’s writing of women, so maybe not completely. But still.)

Just like Schumer was united in his support of the Democratic candidate for mayor of New York? Or do senators just get a couple of freebies?
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

I don’t know if I’ve ever felt less hopeful about my country. Imagine the American Revolutionaries saying “Standing up to King George didn’t work”

the OTHER thing is that no filibuster defender has yet to articulate why it is that people who happen to live in low density states not only deserve additional representation but also deserve to exercise a veto *on top of that*

My Spotify wrapped thank you video (please stop using Spotify) kept getting rejected for “featuring music” but it didn’t have music. My daughter overheard and said “but it does have music…there’s a plane flying over you that sounds musical.” Eq’d that out, video accepted. My kid rules.

I have assiduously avoided AI-generated songs, but I checked this one out and holy shit. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the last lyrics are “My uncle’s father died in the Pentagon/I was 5, how old were you?”
Oh my GOD. The song that Rudy Giuliani used in his anti-Zohran post is fucking AI-generated.
It's a song called "September 11, 2001" and it's from some AI slop factory called The Experience. You need to hear how bad this song is.

There are lots of reasons I’m looking forward to being done with grad school in December, but first in foremost it’s that I’m never staying up til 1am for non-music related reasons ever again

Tom McClintock managed to let his district take the third-biggest loss of all republican districts. He even manages to lose when he’s winning.
Of course, he doesn’t even live in the district he represents, so no sweat off his back! Good lord we need to vote this chump out of office.

During the shutdown, President Trump has frozen or canceled nearly $28 billion for projects in Democratic-led districts — and Trump and his aides have threatened additional cuts. Here's a map of the funding affected, by congressional district. nyti.ms/4hfrbDg

I wouldn’t have even called myself a D’Angelo fan, but my cousin invited me to the Black Messiah tour in Oakland and I am still reasonably certain it was the best concert I’ll go to in my life.

I’ve got a song coming out this week of a political nature, and “if you’re going to do it, don’t you dare do the Jesse Welles thing” was one of my guiding principles
My mother just sent a Jesse Welles video in a group text to me, my two aunts, and several of my cousins.
That man is a goddamn menace.

I have a new single about, ya know, “things” coming out in a week, and its relevancy is the least of my concerns, but also it’s never a great feeling to have new verses to a distributed song come to you every time you open a the web browser.
Things are so fraught that by the time you get a good take of the protest song you wrote the other day something worse has already happened.

I tell ya, being on the commercial mailing list of the festival you’ve been submitting your band to for a long time can lead to some disappointing checking of notifications.
