Indonesia may host the @intgovforum.bsky.social in 2026, reading between the lines a little in this article from a year ago that I didn’t see until today. Might be outdated - so treat this as no more than gossip. #IGF2025 #IGF2026 en.antaranews.com/amp/news/295...

This is bad for a ton of reasons, but... it also will totally fuck over Meta. Because the (already) very weak rationale for allowing trans-Atlantic data flows from EU users to US company servers hinges on the existence of the PCLOB.

So for all of Zuck's suck-up to Trump, this is going to hurt him.

I have never bought the argument that there cannot be two TikToks and thus divestiture is infeasible… because Bytedance already has two TikToks: TikTok, and Douyin — the Chinese version! TikTok is not even available in China.

Does Meta perceive that their regulatory risk has moved from the EU to the US?
Nick Clegg departs his role as President of Global Affairs at Meta. Longtime Meta policy Joel Kaplan will now become Meta's Chief Global Affairs Officer.

My hunch is this is how Luigi Mangione was caught, and not due to some panicked retiree and an overworked employee at a McDonalds.
A VPN usually doesn't protect you against even this, because most people's OPSEC is so poor that they don't even need to find your "real IP". Your devices and behavior leaks so much information about you that even private investigators can find you without "backtracing" your VPN. 5/?

A privilege to attend #IGF2024 in Riyadh 🇸🇦 last week on behalf of the Interledger Foundation. Our motivation to attend this year was grounded in our mission to advance digital financial freedom and to foster equitable access to the digital economy's opportunities.

Much to be said about #IGF2024, but the host country having an offsite reception on Sunday open only to government representatives with yellow badges was a perfect representation of the multistakeholder model in action: some stakeholders are more equal than others!

Looking forward to #IGF2024 kicking off tomorrow! @Interledger.interledger.social.ap.brid.gy sees the IGF as a critical platform for fostering conversations about Open Payments, digital financial inclusion, and equitable access to the digital economy. Please connect with me to discuss further.

I note many of the critical voices who said they'd never attend #IGF2024 are now attending. Good. Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 is changing and if we reject its radical economic and social advances, or pretend they don't exist, WE are doing a disservice to the young Saudis who pushed for them.

The choreography towards the end of this scene is insane. I re-watched it twice in slow motion. Still not entirely sure how this was filmed — but presuming in two cuts, as they transition from the staircase to a platform. And, the wardrobe is phenomenal. youtu.be/2NoIiDAwjJI?...

Interesting report. I can see how the recommendations/analysis could be true. And I don’t want to distract from that by saying this - but the “Global Majority” framing in the report - is imprecise & I would argue divisive. Language evolves but that term is so vague it doesn’t get its meaning across.
New GloTech study discusses these Qs: What can South-to-South knowledge exchange contribute to Tech and Democracy research? What are divergence points between Global North & South tech justice advocacies? How are so-called global “whole-of-society” coalitions extractive of “local partners”? 🧿 1/6

At this year’s Interledger Summit, we had a dedicated space for lawmakers to engage with the technical + civil society communities building on Interledger. Parliamentarians shared the policy needs of their regions and
our community highlighted regulatory shifts that could support fintech innovation.
