I think you need to push for across the board impeachment every single day without stopping. These people are destroying our country. They are breaking laws. Hold them accountable by any means necessary. Press charges. Demand arrests. Make them your own damn selves. DO something.

“He should have shot him” can everyone saying this shit the fuck up??? Unless you were one of the people there at the time, mind your business and count your blessings.

I see you putting proper alt text now! Thank you for assuring your words are accessible to all, and may the memories of those taken from us in such violence be a blessing.

This took me less than a minute. It took longer because of BlueSky’s character limit. It would have taken you LESS than a minute to do this yourself when you made the post.
Alt text is as basic and simple as you can get in accessibility. There’s zero excuse not to use it.

6. Look for news outlets close to the incident.
7. Compare multiple sources.
8. Big news brings out the fakers. And photoshoppers.
9. Beware reflexive retweeting. Some of this is on you.

5. Pay attention to the language the media uses.
• "We are getting reports"... could mean anything.
• "We are seeking confirmation"... means they don't have it.
• "[News outlet] has learned"... means it has a scoop or is going out on limb.

3. Don't trust stories that cite another news outlet as the source of the information.

I’m sorry she had to go through this, but this is exactly what she voted for. She just didn’t think it would ever actually affect her, and it’s only now that it has that she’s begun to give a shit.

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social please put actual alt text on your images. “A statement on Brown University” does nothing to tell people with visual impairments what words are on the screen. This is accessibility 101.

May we never allow ourselves to grow numb to this pain, and let us rededicate ourselves to the enduring work of ending the scourge of gun violence in our nation.

I send my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and to the Brown and Providence communities, who are wrestling with a grief that will feel familiar to far too many others.

when we drop our children off at kindergarten and when we fear if those children, now grown, will be safe on campus. But unlike so many other epidemics, we possess the cure. We have the power to eradicate this suffering from our lives if we so choose.

Tonight, on the eve of the anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting, we find ourselves in mourning once again.
The epidemic of gun violence stretches across America. We reckon with it when we step into our houses of worship and out onto our streets,—

ALT TEXT:

Two people were killed this evening at Brown University by a gunman who remains at large.
Eight others are injured, fighting for their lives in a nearby hospital. This senseless violence-once considered unfathomable-has become nauseatingly normal to all of us across our nation.
