This is why I get mad when people say it's easy and imply that people who don't pass N1 after a few years aren't good enough.
As Dr. Robertson says, the JLPT isn't the only measure of Japanese ability. Speaking, reading, and writing fluency are different from test taking ability.

This is really dumb.
1. Thinking getting N1 in 1-2 years is an "incredibly attainable" goal is dumb, because it's actually impossible for the vast majority of people.
2. Belittling people who learn a certain way is dumb because everyone's different. We can't all get fluent from Anki and grit.

This is really dumb.

And one final thought: Ozzy going out after giving an emotional final performance that raised a ton of money for charity is more spiritually uplifting and did more genuine good than anything any televangelist and religious grifter who railed against him ever did combined.

Slow progress in learning Japanese. But I have just a little bit more to go in Marumori before I finish the N5 content. Finding most of it is sticking, and with every lesson, I'm now getting further and further than I did in my first attempt at learning.

When you look between the lines he's being very sneaky with his wording. They've already got rid of 'contract' linguists, but their 'emoloyees' (probably managers) are apparently safe.

Just finished the Cognitive Load Theory book from @teacherhead.bsky.social's In Action series
Really glad I found this in my ITT year. I've had training on CLT, and this has helped to expand on it, deepen my understanding, and given me ideas that I can hopfully act on in the classroom soon
