So according to Trump the 2021 covid economy Biden inherited from Trump is Biden’s fault. And the 2025 economy is also Biden’s fault. But Trump gets credit for the economy he inherited from Obama. Can we have a date when Republicans are going to take responsibility for anything?

Kirk didn't serve in the military or hold office. The war hero treatment -- half-mast flags, military guard, Air Force Two escort, calls for a statue at the Capitol or to lie in the Rotunda -- shows that for MAGA, service to Trump has become the highest, most honorable form of service.

"But crime in DC is down!" isn't a direct counter, because the fascists define "criminal" not as "person who committed a crime," but as "person I hate, due to their race, gender, religion, political stances, or whatever I feel like."

I mean, to be fair to Trump's take, the city IS run by a lawless crime boss, a convicted felon who escaped punishment and corruptly protect thousands of violent lawbreaking followers from punishment.

Everything happening in the US could probably be classified as a slow-rolling coup.

If Democrats were doing this, how would Republicans respond, I wonder?

At some point Americans have to decide what kind of country they want and how far they’re prepared to go to achieve it.

The Marines are trained to kill—not to police citizens. Sad that this misfit occupant of the White House who deferred service, called troops suckers, foisted an insurrection, has profound support among the military community. This is being done to target Black and Brown people—period.

We never had to worry about the U.S. military being used against our own country when Biden was president.

But that’s exactly what’s happened under both Trump administrations.

In a functioning democracy, a president who
-tries to seize Congress's constitutional spending powers
-attempts to rewrite the Constitution unilaterally
-pardons violent insurrectionists who attacked the government
-fires the Inspectors General and DOJ prosecutors

would face immediate impeachment

Because it's come up recently, a reminder that the Y2K bug wasn't overhyped. It was a huge problem and an huge number of people worked fast and hard and fixed it. Like the ozone hole.

It's not a lesson in overhype. It's a lesson in humankind's ability to cooperatively solve problems.
