I've been thinking about this so much lately as I prep for the next chapter of my life and reflect on my disappearance from social media. I really want to focus on my offline life, but I feel like it'll be even harder to make it if I don't reestablish myself online 😭 This is not sustainable
Book promo is so heavily reliant on social media & what goes viral on social media is easily digestible fiction you can read while multitasking without missing anything important.
This was always the case, but marketing used to be a lot more robust so this wasn't the end all be all of success.

as a cis woman who had to take progesterone daily for a year for medical reasons, you better believe I was grateful not to live in a state where the heteronormative moralizing around access to hormones prevented me from getting the treatment I very urgently needed
This thought has been rolling around in my head: both cis and trans women access to hormones are being threatened. Trans women are in danger of losing access to HRT. Cis women it is access to oral birth control and abortion pills. Women’s bodies are being policed.

in personal news, i found out that my old 2005 car finally needs to be retired and had to buy a new car nearly all by myself :') it's been a very stressful week and i wish a very bad luck to my father, who was supposed to get me a car for graduation but couldn't even sign my own title over to me

i can't think of a better time to dive back into my victorian children-versus-father wip than in the closing months of the post-divorce phase where my father is demonstrating just how petty and horrid he can be 😌 this one's for you dad x thanks for the material

a lot of authors have started writing in the defensive crouch induced by social media, where the fear of being misread causes them to write less interestingly. this is bad and they should stop it. people will always misread, because lots of people are dumb, badly taught, or reading in bad faith
It drives me nuts from the other direction because I’ve been annoyed at multiple books lately because they Kept Hammering the Same Point Over and Over and I’m eventually going “are you writing this for very dim people?”

curse wip finally has a storyboard!!! it's been months since i've written anything beyond B2 revisions, but i'm actually really enjoying the process of rewriting/restructuring this story. it has so much potential - i can't wait to see where it ends up!

I get so shocked any time I leave a doctor's appointment happy. I had my first autonomics follow-up today and it went better than I could've hoped!!
