Today an overwhelmingly white Republican Party in Missouri, at the urging of Donald Trump, worked to remove this Christian minister who was active in the SCLC, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, from his seat not through trying to beat him at the ballot box but by picking his voters for him. Shameful.
He Blazed a Trail to Congress. Now His Seat Is in Peril.

E.P.A. Is Said to Draft a Plan to End Its Ability to Fight Climate Change
According to two people familiar with the draft, it would eliminate the bedrock scientific finding that greenhouse-gas emissions threaten human life by dangerously warming the planet.

We cannot, we MUST NOT forget that, behind this very public discussion are real women, human beings, who suffered incredible pain because of Epstein and his buddies, and they suffered more pain trying to make sure the public knew what he did. We cannot forget about them in this online discourse.

Medicaid does the following:

-Provides 1 in 2 kids health insurance
-Keeps the majority of rehab and skilled nursing facilities open nationwide
-Until today, had a rule in place to ensure minimum nurse staffing for patient safety

This is the program the party of “MAHA” wants to gut.

Why another protest? What is it going to accomplish? Shouldn’t we be [insert alternate tactic] instead?

These are good-faith questions, and they stem from very reasonable concerns. So let’s take a step back and talk about the role of a peaceful mass mobilization like No Kings.

The Suspension Clause:

1) Doesn't allow the President to unilaterally suspend habeas, especially when Congress is in session;

2) Applies only to cases of invasion or rebellion (this is quite clearly neither); and

3) *Even then,* applies only "when the public safety may require it." (It doesn't.)
Stephen Miller says they are “actively looking at” suspending the writ of habeas corpus, which is only allowed when the US has been invaded or during an insurrection, which would not allow people to challenge their incarceration in court if they are arrested and detained.

This country is becoming unrecognizable. What we’re seeing is state-funded fear. We’ve warned people: keep filming, go live on social media so these moments are documented and shared. This wasn’t a case involving masked ICE agents—but that’s happening too.

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you.

The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.
