When you play videogames are you directional challenged like me or do you know where you’re going at all times?
Most of the time even with a map I’m just winging it bouncing from place to place and maybe I’ll end up at my set destination.

Yeah, I mean I think this is ultimately the answer here; Mario and Zelda in particular among Nintendo flagship properties tend to be marketed to younger kids, Pokemon to slightly older, and Metroid to teens and up

mario odyssey is still one of the most uniquely disappointing games ever made. it’s peak nintendo. one of the deepest and most expressive core movement systems ever, a genuine masterwork of design and not a single level to actually use it in. sometimes you have to jump twice to avoid a laser
