It's curious to me that the "drug boat" sinkings were initially announced with hubristic declarations by the regime, whereas this one, substantially more complex and thought out, has not been promoted in the same way.
That is a sharp contrast with the administration’s other recent actions at sea, where small “cartel” boats have been sunk outright and smugglers killed during interdictions.

I have this vision of the US government as a truck, driving along spreading ... trash ... out of the back. And by the time one set of rubbish has been gathered, the truck is already two blocks ahead.

This is really incredible. The government's battle to deport Abrego Garcia has apparently been based on a lie from the start. Not even the "gang affiliation" lie or the "human smuggling" lie, but the more basic assertion that he was ordered to be deported in the first place.

I'll tell you the problem with UBI (Universal Basic Income).
It doesn't matter how high it is, while privatisation controls all of the essential services they will simply put up their prices until all the payments are to them.

The ACA tax credit extension is going nowhere in Congress. Republicans are opposing a straight extension pitched by Democrats, but don't yet have a plan of their own.
