Not a word about the victims.
Not a word about the homeless.
Not a word about the heroic firefighters.
Not a word about the help from neighbouring countries.

Just division and disinformation.

Unfit for office.

This paper is a great example of solid evidence of systemic discrimination:
"Black taxpayers are audited at 2.9 to 4.7 times the rate of non-Black taxpayers."
This reflects a series of choices built into the IRS audit algorithm: focus on the EITC, and overclaiming of credits.

I don't think people grok how much Elon has destroyed organic engagement on X.

The official Rolling Stone X account has 6 million followers over there.

I have like 1/100th of that here.

But my engagement for sharing the same tweet is higher here

Trump has entered the “I am the state” phase of his presidency. There are no rules, no standards, no judgments that matter other than his and he will prove it by obliterating norm after norm.

Six decades later, Star Trek may still be the only franchise based on the ideas that diversity is strength, justice is the measure of civilization, bounty is to be shared, peace is worth the price, and all these things can be achieved.

We need more shows that look ahead and find goodness.

Whatever a border czar is, they don't have arrest authority. Federal law enforcement officers do, pending judicial enforcement. Consultation with prosecutors is the norm for pre-planned arrests & here's the kicker: people being arrested must have actually committed a crime.

Jared Kushner’s father paid a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, secretly recorded it, and then showed the video to his own sister for revenge & intimidation.
He got caught.
He admitted it.
He got convicted.
Trump pardoned him.
And today he made him our next Ambassador to France.

Please remember there are billionaires spending money on outrage media to make you mad at federal civil servants instead of the Supreme Court they bought. Please save your outrage for the actual fascists.

The OH Supreme Court let our GOP St legislature slow walk ordered map changes in open contempt. We had a majority. If the Court had said, "if you don't, we will," instead of +1 D seat bc GOP slow walk, +3-4

When institutions won't treat attacks on democracy as attacks on democracy, we end up here

I get the pushback to Bluesky in that it further bifurcates our media ecosystem. But at this point, Twitter’s content moderation is so nonexistent and its verified users so extreme that the choice becomes either move away from Twitter or be subjected to straight up 4chan nazi bile on a daily basis.

The Trump team is declining to sign the agreement with General Services Administration.

This means they don't have to disclose their donors for the transition team and they won't be using government servers so people can't use FOIA requests to see information.

So much for transparency.

Weird how most of the media coverage on "inflation" didn't point out soaring profit. It was always about increased prices but rarely pointing out the companies were enriching themselves to an even greater extent than ever before.
Corporate profits hit an all-time high last year and continued to rise in 2024.

Just so happens that in 75% of US industries, fewer companies control more of the business than 20 years ago.

Minimal competition means maximized price-gouging.
