Eén van de weinige dingen die je als burger kunt ondernemen tegen machtige platforms zijn class action lawsuits. Ik deed mee aan een Amerikaanse (waar ik aan kon meedoen omdat ik in de VS heb gewoond) en kreeg vandaag het geld uitgekeerd:

Tamelijk bizar; ik vroeg DeepSeek (de Chinese ChatGPT) iets over Oeigoeren. Vervolgens geeft ‘ie uitgebreid antwoord over o.a. mensenrechtenschendingen en detentiekampen, maar dan plotseling verwijdert ‘ie het antwoord en zegt ‘ie ‘Let’s talk about something else’.

Wat niet helpt is dat beleid over de impact van digitalisering versnipperd is: media vallen onder OCW, toezicht DSA ligt bij EZ, democratie bij BZK (minister) en coördinerende digitalisering rol bij BZK (stas). Dit helpt niet terwijl de urgentie gigantisch is.
