No seriously, the reason to vote for haüyne is that it's the absolute bluest thing--it is the super expensive blue that traditional aquamarine paint was made from (lazurite per MinDat when analyzed is just a variety of haüyne).
Haüyne
Sodalite Group. Also classed in the Feldspathoid Supergroup. Ideally, the two sodalite cages in haüyne's unit cell contain Na^3CaSO^4. Pale-coloured ...

For my American friends…
Keep in mind that this is taken from a Disney production, one that just this week won an Emmy.

It may sound vaguely apropos.

An unexpected discovery of IODP Exp 398! 200 m of ash from the Kos Plateau Tuff eruption buried in the basins around Santorini, read how it got there in our new paper in Science Advances 🌋

Submarine ash megabed fed by far-traveled, shoreline-crossing pyroclastic currents from a large explosive volcanic eruption
Volcanic ash from an eruption in Greece poured into the sea, forming a bed 200 m thick in a submarine basin far from the volcano.

We tried compiling a global database of deposit descriptions of pyroclastic density current deposits. The aim was to help us do big data analysis, look for common trends, and to support modelling.

We got some interesting results but also, found some really significant issues and gaps #IAVCEI2025

What happens when a dense, aerated granular flow encounters a vertical barrier? What night these mean for the behaviours of pyroclastic density currents? Check out Jordan Chenery's poster at #IAVCEI2025

Structural geology fieldcamp for the finishing undergraduate students on beautiful Cap de Creus (with @caroline-lotout.bsky.social and Valérie Bosse). Starting with folding and bedding/cleavage relationships in a very low-grade greso-pelitic series.

For #VolcanoMonday, I give you Manaro Voui volcano, a shield volcano on the Island of #Ambae in the #Vanuatu arc. A poorly known volcano, it flew under the radar until unrest started in the 1990s, culminating in a major eruption in 2017-2018 that lead twice to the evacuation of the entire island.⚒️🧪🌋
