I’m a poet and a sculptor who loves rainstorms, folk music, and candlelight. I’m looking for kindred spirits!

I have found this strangely comforting.

This poem's movement and imagery! The violence and softness, the darkness and silence of words taken, inscrutable as winter stars.

This will do nicely…
‘Between my finger and my thumb
The squat pen rests.
I’ll dig with it.’

We’re getting started here on Bluesky, and thought the best possible way to introduce ourselves on a new platform would be our poem of the week, ‘Digging’ by Seamus Heaney.

I open my Bluesky feed and it is full of really cool people saying really smart things and being really passionate about really interesting stuff.

I like this version of social media, and the world.

Thanks, folks.

Two of my poems up in the terrific new issue of @coupletpoetry.bsky.social. The whole issue is full of bangers. Honored to have my words in such company. coupletpoetry.com/amorak-huey/

I am revisiting this gratifying/validating article. Are you a “cooperative overlapper” (like me) in conversation? Has it caused problems for you, too, whether on the phone or while traveling? 🗣️🦻

What would I write,
I wonder?
If I could send a #postcard to me in the past.

Would I list the times we pull together.
Or list the times we fall apart.

Would I be able to change anything?
Or would the same happen,
To ensure that I'm still me.

If we'd invented it in America, we'd call it the "full-auto tactical assault bookshelf", but because it was designed by 16th-century Italian engineer Agostino Ramelli, it's just called a 'bookwheel'.

It permits reading of many books by a person from a single location.

I must say that it's quite fun building a follower list from scratch again. Immersing myself in a world of music, history, pretty churches, beautiful landscapes, and like-minded folk.
