It was an honor to sign the guest book in the home of Anne Frank.

I was here as a younger man and thought about her life as a dark chapter of history.

Today, I can’t help but think of her story as one of caution. Our world is fragile, and it’s incumbent on us not to break it.

It's really easy to be against psychiatric medications for kids until you have a kid that has abdominal pain for a year and they get $3600 worth of blood work and scoped on both ends and everything comes back "normal".

I passed by federal workers & Washingtonians — significant crossover — protesting DOGE outside of the Department of Health and human Services in Washington.
I heard them singing from blocks away.
I never tire of seeing my fellow Americans exercise our First Amendment rights in these civic spaces.

Just in case you thought that removing DEI criteria would mean that everyone is competing equally: NIH is removing grad students from underrepresented backgrounds from the applicant pool altogether. Their applications will not be considered. Other students, not from these backgrounds, will be.
