I know a lot of people (cough Millennials) feel like they need to START a thing, START a food bank, build a little free food pantry.

My friends, my loves, my dears.

Don't start.

JOIN.

These exist. They have community ties! They have some funding! Accountability! Regulations!

Feeding America has a page where you can input your zip code and it'll show you all of the food banks near you overlaid on a map. If you need it, it's there. If you don't need it, think about donating money if you have it and your time if you don't.

I just discovered Casablanca herbal tea and I’m not sure if it’s autumnal per se, but it’s definitely brought me joy this autumn!

I wonder who is treating him in Atlanta since the best #POTS doctor in the state left for New York this summer. Best wishes to him as he adapts to life with this illness. And I really hope his care team is keeping eye out for #PEM so he doesn’t accidentally work himself into Severe #MECFS

Maybe this is insensitive, but how are so many good scientists losing their jobs and this guy, who is holding us back from finding a cure, still has a job?

I don’t wish joblessness or layoffs on anyone, but if you have to trim the fat, start with guys like this who are actually doing a bad job.

Relatedly, if you tell me you’re praying for my trial to pass (while voting to block all help for people with my trial), I’m going to say, “oh thanks! What revelation did God give you about how to help me out of this trial?”

I like prayer, but not people who use it as a get-out-of-helping pass.

I hope you are able to get a lot of rest in the coming days to recover. Thanks for showing up for all the people who couldn’t. And thanks to all the kind strangers who helped you make it.

Very proud of you for recognizing in the moment that it was lack of blood in the brain. When I get brainfog I forget that I have this dumb disease and can’t for the life of me figure out why I can’t think anymore.
