Texas counted “Hispanics” as racially white to avoid school desegregation in the 20th century. But now federal programs for addressing disparities experienced by Hispanics are supposedly racially discriminatory…against white folks. This bogus “reverse” discrimination victimhood is beyond ridiculous.
Justice Dept. declines to defend grants for Hispanic-serving colleges, calling them unconstitutional

My uni's political activity policy. Typical cactus country. Employees must not allow their interest in a particular party, candidate, or political issue affect their objectivity when performing duties. But, academic freedom, yay? Also, disciplinary measures if you mess up, grrr. Fun tightrope (sigh)

Drove to Pride event last night, downtown LA cordoned off, overkill of helicopters, sirens, police. Event deejay played songs invoking theme, if it’s the last day on earth (our country), dance in queer joy before the revolution begins. Overheard many plan to attend #NoKings today, arranging meetups.

Grading student finals in my U.S. sports history undergrad course. Cannot believe students born well after the Cold War technically ended still use Rocky IV as a reference example. Such nationalistic dribble. Hate this film and it most certainly was not assigned. 🙄 #skystorians
Burning Hearts & Iron Curtains: Rocky IV & Cold War Propaganda
The appeal of Rocky Balboa is his relatable status as a flawed everyman. In 1976, director John G. Avildsen gave us the perfect underdog story. Backed by an Oscar-nominated screenplay by Stallone h…

This made me think of the many queer feminists of color who we have lost to cancer.

Who’s going to tell them about intersex people? Chromosomal variations? They don’t give two shits about girl’s or women’s sports. TX AG wants NCAA to use cheek swabs but they’ll go back to 1966 nude parades, bet. How quickly some women athletes forget that we were once branded as manly, unfeminine.
Texas AG asks court to require NCAA to begin gender testing as part of new transgender policy
The Republican attorney general in Texas wants the NCAA to take its transgender policy a step further and require gender testing for athletes who compete in women’s sports.

Dope. Except the figure should be a trans child, a drag Queen, a K-12 librarian or a brown immigrant since they are among the first to be sacrificed in this coup. I always hated Teslas to begin with but even more now.
