What are you doing with a media hit AFTER it lands? Don’t just rely on the day (or even hour) that it’s live on a news site. Are you:
✅ Turning into social copy
✅ Sending it to your email lists
✅ Using it to get more interviews

Here are the PR trends I’m most interested in rn:
📰 Media consumption is hyper-fragmented
🎙Podcasts are the way to reach your target audience
🤳🏻Social media is a growing source of news for many
✍🏻Moving away from op-eds and toward self-publishing on substack

The #RootsCamp “un-conference” is a great model for authentic community building and how to foster organic conversations. The result: nobody is competing to be the smartest person in the room and everyone is asking: What can we learn from each other?

Don’t get me wrong: There’s a lot of great conversations happening here, but I don’t think it’s reaching the people who need to hear it.
I’ve been on Bluesky for two weeks and I fear we’re all preaching to the choir. That’s the result of the fragmented media landscape we’re living in—we’re all customizing our timelines and creating echo chambers of information.

This is a really good indicator that one of the things folks will have to do is: organize by calling their neighbors & telling them what’s up & showing them what to do.
I hate to tell you this but at a neighborhood event last night virtually everyone there said they are no longer following political news because of their disappointment about the election and none of them had a clue about the scope of Trump's atrocities.
