I design photo cards for a living. I’m working on grad announcements and today’s act of micro feminism is to name all the high schools in my sample cards after women.

Saw a few things I would have purchased at an antique shop on James Island yesterday. But I didn’t buy them because the store had taxidermy endangered species for sale. That’s a hard pass.

Chronic illness is expensive. If I didn’t have chronic illness I’d spend all the money I spend on being sick on a trip to see whale sharks in the wild. Spoonies: what would you do with the extra cash if you suddenly didn’t have to pay for appointments and meds and gear and accommodations anymore?

Visited my son at college. Shocking news: kids these days don’t put beer in cups when playing beer pong. I also witnessed washing of dishes without being asked via a passive aggressive note. And witnessed my son mopping the floor the morning after the party. We really are in the upside down.

Grocery stores had bins of Brach’s candy in the produce dept. I loved nougat w/ candied fruit & always begged my mom for a nickel to get a piece. Yes: candy in the produce dept. GenX life was wild, y’all. My perimenopause brain woke me up about it in the middle of the night. Core memory unlocked.

Quick thought.

People who start an insurrection don’t care about laws.

Anywho. Happy Thursday.

If you're protesting tomorrow:

"I invoke my rights to silence and counsel and will not answer questions without my attorney present."

MEMORIZE THAT, because aside from asking if you're free to leave (or providing ID if you're in a stop and ID state), that's the ONLY thing you ever say to cops.

I haven’t seen much talk about this over here so, Chicago friends, you appear to be (a) wild bird flu outbreak spot; hundreds of birds have died or are sick, particularly near water. If you see one, on your property or otherwise, do not try to deal with it without proper PPE and keep your pets away
Officials warn residents not to touch dead birds in Chicago amid outbreak
Officials urged residents of the Chicago area not to touch -- or let their pets touch -- dead or sick birds as a bird flu outbreak sickens and kills many across the region.

Sick of being sick for so many reasons. One petty reason: I am bitter about having to spend loads of money on supplies and meds for my chronic illnesses.

I’ll be having dental work done on MLK Day. A drill to my jaw is infinitely more appealing than watching the inauguration.
