"Hi - can I pet your dog?"

From Buffalo, NY. Founder of Kenmore Porchfest, trail runner, programmer (PHP) & professor at BSU. ✊
Yesterday my daughters and I surprised my wife while she was at work by covering the living room ceiling with Christmas lights and decorations.

I've had dogs who didn't listen to me; when I'd say "sit" and they just looked at me then started licking themselves, I'd say "lick yourself" & then the dog was doing what I told it to do.

That's what trump is doing here. He realizes it's going to happen, so he's pretending to be in favor of it.

Still thinking about Paul McCartney ending Friday night's concert with, "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

Not to mention seeing him perform "Let it Be" and "Hey Jude" live. Such a great concert.

This is the first year I'm not wishing my father a happy Veterans Day, because he *still* supports the guy who wanted to rename it "Victory Day for World War I"

Cars are essential in most of the U.S. They're also increasingly unaffordable

My scene was 1.2 seconds long, and I wasn't in the shot. Guess I'll have to try again
8pm tonight on the Hallmark channel: my big movie premiere as "Guy walking into the party" in A Newport Christmas! Let's see if my 10-hours on set and 15 seconds of filming time makes the final cut. If they don't show the couples walking into the party, the whole plot just falls apart.

Finished grading current assignments & did most of the monthly housework tasks.
Tmrw I'll finish cleaning the kitchen, go for a run, prep breakfast for the week, get classes ready for the week & grade late work.
Hoping that's done by the start of the Bills game so I can relax a bit.

I'm so tired.

Hear me out: a confirmation / warning in the camera app whenever someone tries to take video with the flash on.

"Are you sure you want to do this? If you're at a concert or any dark place with a lot of people, I guarantee you don't."

Now that I got everything done and gone everywhere I needed to be this weekend, I'm going to sit on the couch and enjoy all 45 minutes where there's nothing I HAVE to do (before dinner then getting ready for the work week) 🫠

Thank you to those who protested today. I couldn't make it (tight schedule, grading, etc) but my garden is representing 🦋 ✊ #nokings #nokingsbuffalo

Saw another shooting star this morning and it got me wondering: am I looking up more, or are there more shooting stars (maybe space debris?) this year?

Sorry but I need one day out of the weekend to have terrible weather so I don't hate that I'm inside cleaning while it's perfect outside. Or, 3-day weekends every weekend.

My big movie premiere is coming up on Sunday, November 2 on the Hallmark Channel. The big question is: did I make the film? After being on set for 8 hours, my shot took all of 10 seconds.

I did not get all my school work done after yesterday's 10-mile trail run & house cleaning, but I was up at 3am & got it all done, then 7-mile recovery bike ride, some time in the hot tub, then Kenmore's farmer's market & visiting neighbors. Little bit of football now, going to a play this afternoon

We have a bit of a natural experiment here. Compare the tone, quantity and duration of Charlie Kirk coverage with that of the two Dem lawmakers gunned down in their homes in Minnesota 6 months ago. May be revealing.

Today was an amazing day: spent over an hour at the farmer's market talking with friends & neighbors & listening to live music (and making Porchfest connections), then random household chores. Kids will both be home for dinner shortly. ❤️
