This morning its decided do hot water at 5am, then blast the heating between 6-7 - im sweating, had to open all the windows. I've lowered the set point temps by half a degree abd gonna email them, see if theres a less aggressive algorithm

I don't see how this could be saving me money/electricity really. Surely better just to have steady state at 3.7 cop? Here's steady state 2 days ago

That's it today, all over the place

The other night me and my wife couldn't sleep cos it was way too hot, right now i can feel a chill in the air. It was too hot when i got in from work earlier. Unimpressed so far. This is pre havenwise.

I guess it's good for ovo who are doing the free trial... There's an option to switch off time of use tariff optimisation in the app, but its been disabled for this trial i think. Basically gone half 4 to half 7 without running the heat pump.
November 19, 2025 at 7:27 PM
So it appears that despite being on a fixed tarrif, this havenwise trial is just cranking the heat right up offpeak then just turning off at peak. Its wrecking my scop and we're too hot.

Or specify articulated multi door operation with bus/tram sharing stops - like here: maps.app.goo.gl/CrbHwie5UPjN...

So I've signed up to a free trial of havenwise... And it's just cranked it up so the house is boiling... Let's hope it settles down, cos this ain't saving me electricity

Mad how much hot water brings down the cop. @zarch1972.bsky.social hot water settings working well for a fast recharge of the cylinder

Dunno whether this helps but cycle phase should allow all these movements simultaneously, and protected with all traffic held at red:
November 12, 2025 at 10:16 AM
Yeah it's an extended Dutch junction, straight on across the tram tracks, then the cycle signals hold all traffic for a cycle only phase

Sanded and 2 coats of varnish, drying in the autumn sunshine

Winter maintenance for the cargo bike - all the wood stripped off for sanding/varnishing, now taking down to BG cycles in Port-o-bello for a service.

Pre-winter service done by BG cycles in Portobello. Great shop and Bernard's a great guy. New tyres and pads, just need to re-proof my high performance outdoor clothing and I'm ready!

Thanks for the suggestions - Dave and Joe at @laidbackbikes.bsky.social sorted me out with a veloe heavy duty cargo stand. Much better. And great chat too. 10/10, proper job.
August 16, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Found someone on Facebook who's done the same!! Thanks for the suggestion
August 15, 2025 at 12:01 PM
Can anyone recommend me a new kick stand for my cargo bike? The current one is too narrow and the bike's fallen over a few times with the kids on it.
