There is nothing at all about A-pillar visibility (or mirror patches) in federal car safety rules.

With cars getting bigger and blind spots expanding, that seems like a serious oversight.
Why Did Cars Get So Hard to See Out Of?
If it seems like forward visibility has gotten worse, you’re right: Since the 1990s, cars and trucks have grown bigger A-pillars that can create dangerous blind spots.

If I’m writing in 3rd-person close, and somewhere along the way it changes to first-person w/o me noticing, I know I’ve got it.

Heads up, writer friends. For the second time I received a cute email from an 11 year old asking if I'd read their short story and give feedback. Story Not an attachment but a link. Be safe. Delete. Do not respond. Emails virtually identical but for boy/girl name.

I had a character (unwittingly) give me the ending for my WIP. I love it when they work with me, rather than against me.

It’s also the first snow hitting the ground in the (Missoula) valley this fall. I’m definitely not ready for summer/fall to end, but it’s kind of pretty.

Which prompt would you choose and why?

A reminder that Missoulians’ take on free speech and workers’ rights hasn’t changed.
#OtD 29 Sep 1909 the @IWW began their first free speech fight in Missoula, MT. Members spoke on the street in defiance of the law until arrested, followed by another, effectively filling the local jail. By Oct, free speech won and all charges dropped stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/1013...

If they spend enough taxpayer money, maybe they can kick everyone off healthcare.

We’ve all canceled Disney, stopped going to Target, opted out of Prime, given up Paramount+, & abandoned our Starbucks addictions, so now we have $5 a month to celebrate books! 📚💙
#BookSky is a beautiful haven for all book lovers! Each connection we make adds a thread to our literary tapestry. Let’s keep the magic alive and celebrate the freedom to read! 💙📚 #books
I love it on #BookSky because of the connections I’ve made, the thoughtful book suggestions and reviews, and as a way to fight those wanting to ban books.

So, I’ve signed up to keep #BookSky up and running. Have you considered it? 📚💙

The only thing sadder than hearing from ppl who want to bike more but are afraid of drivers (understandable) is finding out someone used to bike a lot but stopped because they became frightened of drivers (also understandable).

I’m volunteering at the fest and couldn’t be more excited. If you’re a reporter interviewing one of the incredible farmers (or one of said farmers), maybe I’ll see you there.

I don’t read a lot of historical thrillers, but this kind of has everything I want. Maybe too much of everything.
The farms shrank, the cities grew. Jazz was quickly becoming America’s music, and secret clubs popped up to celebrate the nature of Dash and many others.
And yet, so much had not changed. Hate, for one. Fear, for another.
This outsider represented both.

It's not just AI. Some days it really feels like our collective reading habits are making writing itself obsolete. I just had a year of reporting whittled down to 1,400 words bc most people don't want read narrative + policy in one story. Or at least editors now firmly believe that they don't.

Remember how much fun mountain biking was in the mid-to-late ‘90s? We got a good reminder this morning by hitting the trails on the Gunnar and Fuji. Steep head angles and narrow 26ers make for some rowdy good times!
