There are a ton of things that the US can do, fiscal and monetary policy-wise, that basically only we can because of the postwar consensus being built around us....and the Republicans have decided to just totally nuke it because they were pissed they couldn't be racist and sexist anymore

NATO leaders now speak Gaullism with an accent. Atlanticism is their first language. I do not think that will be the case 15-20 years from now.
