I’d like to toot my own horn here, as well as that of my friends, by acknowledging that this month marks the 20th anniversary of the Oilogosphere. For those who don’t know, that’s the name given to the group of Edmonton Oilers bloggers who appeared after the 2005 NHL lockout. 🧵/1

Couple thoughts on the Edmonton Oilers series against the Florida Panthers, how they match up, special teams, goaltending and players to watch.

Bearing off
This has to be it, right? The Edmonton Oilers get a second chance to win the Stanley Cup starting on Wednesday night against the Florida Panthers, which should be a very entertaining series. Both c…

Unreal. I know it's not all on Skinner, but at some point you need a few good saves.

Don't tell me Rodrigue would be worse.

Holy shit what a goal by Kane and then Bouchard on the challenge-induced PP.

This team is so stressful and yet exciting to watch.

I’m just here to remind you that Jeff Skinner has more 5x5 goals on the Oilers than everyone except McDavid, Draisaitl, and Hyman.

If you look at goals / 60, only Drai and Hyman are above him.

His most common forward linemates have been Henrique and Janmark.

#Oilers sans 97 and 29 look like a very different team but actually rather enjoying seeing more opportunities for the rest of the lineup.

Walman seems like he's gonna fit in nicely in on the #Oilers

Oilers announce acquisition of Sharks’ Jake Walman for first round pick, Carl Berglund

Hey Canada,

Learn from Ontario's recent mistakes. Check your riding and vote strategically. We still have time to organize and protect Canada from Putin's Puppet Poilievre.

Pass it on.

Edmonton’s goaltending just isn’t good enough right now to win a title.

I weigh their best (only?) options heading into this year’s trade deadline:

Yost: Edmonton Oilers must grapple with goaltending question ahead of trade deadline | TSN
Stuart Skinner is not making life easy on the Edmonton Oilers front office. Goaltender performance is highly volatile and there’s no doubt the Oilers are dealing with some uncertainty right now.

Watched the highlights without knowing who had won, and with each FLA goal it became more apparent which team would win.

#Oilers yikes, exciting but messy game? Perhaps a save or some defensive awareness woulda helped?

What a game by the #Oilers tonight!

Hope Bouchard is okay.

Puckiq is now live for the 24/25 season!

The samples are waaaaay too small to come to any informed conclusions yet but I bet that won't stop some of you sickos from doing it anyway.

Enjoy!!!

At all situations, this was a very close game.

But that is skewed the powerplay time. Look at the 5x5 chart! Very impressive even strength game by Edmonton! Solid win. Well deserved. On the road no less!

I did not expect to like #Shoresy as much as I did.
