Turns out the real threat to women and children were the Republicans in charge. They scapegoated trans people to deflect from their own sex crimes against women and children.

Republicans have been working to eliminate it since that day.
Before ACA, ~14-16% of people in the U.S. were uninsured. By 2023, the uninsured rate had fallen to a record low of 7.7%.
