Police found text messages to and from Voloshyn in which Gill agreed to make statements supportive of Russia in the European parliament in exchange for cash, which were referred to in the messages as "Xmas gifts" and "postcards" Reform has sought to distance itself from Gill after his admission of guilt. Zia Yusuf, "most people in the senior leadership team have never really heard of the guy, dismissing him as "one of tens of thousands of people" that Farage "meets on an annual basis". Gill defected from the Tories to Ukip in 2005. He followed Farage to the Brexit Party in 2019 and led Reform in Wales for four months in 2021. Ukraine-Russia relations were a long-running interest of Gill's and the theme of his maiden speech in 2014.He appeared on Russian state television in 2016 criticising EU sanctions on Russia in response to its annexation of Crimea. Baroness Hodge of Barking, the government's "anti-corruption champion", has said the elections bill will make it easier to pursue corrupt politicians She said it would give "powers to the Electoral Commission around corruption and around party political finance, which were really badly looked at under the previous government", adding: "We can rectify that, put those powers back.”

🇪🇺🇬🇧 have reached agreement for Britain to re-enter the EU's Erasmus sforeign exchange program from 2027.

This is different than the Youth Mobility Scheme (now renamed Youth Exchange Scheme) that would allow 🇬🇧young people to actually *move* to an EU country (and vice versa), still being discussed.

Farage like Mogg and Johnson are really just grown up versions of their teenage selves. Lots of public school boys leave fully formed - and armed with an entitlement and a sense of empowerment that takes them through the rest of their lives.

I have planned & hosted these ceremonies at two different jobs, and I can 100% confirm that @kevinmkruse.bsky.social is 100% correct. And I would guess that probably 90% of people born in this country couldn’t pass the citizenship exam that new Americans have to pass to be naturalized.
