Never forget that Trump was the culmination of 40 years of stagnant wages, widening inequality, corruption, dog-whistle politics, and economic gains for the rich.

If we fail to address this, we should expect future Trumps as far as the eye can see.
The Big Picture: How We Got Into This Mess, And How We Get Out of It | Robert Reich
I’ve been in or around politics for over a half-century now. I’ve watched as corporations ransacked our system. In 1952, the corporate share of federal tax revenue was 32%. In 2020, it was down to 7%. Here’s how we break the corporate oligarchy and return power to the people. Project 2025 was unpopular because of things like the plan for Trump to shut down the CFPB, which helps you get your money back if a bank cheats you.

JFC! We’ve got a teenager with full access to the State Department’s data—one who joked about wiping servers after getting fired for leaking a security firm’s info to a competitor.

What could go possibly wrong—except permanent damage to our top national secrets and the trust of our allies.

The federal government promised it would reimburse farmers for millions in infrastructure investments, but Trump's funding freeze just left farmers on the hook.

And if Trump's tariffs go through, farmers will be in even more dire straits.

A "new Golden Age" for whom?

They are going to ignore court orders.

If they ignore court orders, the social contract is dead and buried, the constitution is no longer in effect.

It's a rubicon that cannot be uncrossed.

Remember: The fundamental issue isn’t the size of the government or how to make government more “efficient.”

It’s who our government is for.

Should it work mainly for big corporations and billionaires, including the richest person in the world — or for the rest of us?

I'm a little surprised more govt employees aren't just saying "no" more often. The question fed HR seems unable to answer right now is how they plan on enforcing disciplinary action that supersedes the employee-supervisor hierarchy. Like, the people you don't work for can't just fire you.

Vought is giving big banks and giant corporations the green light to scam families.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has returned over $21 billion to families cheated by Wall Street. Republicans have failed to gut it in Congress and in the courts. They will fail again.

The sickening way McBride is treated in congress never ends.

At some point, you have to just stop taking it. I don't know where that point is for McBride, I know where it was for my own wife, you have to hit back.

At least in this case, a fellow Dem did afterwards and said "Mr. Speaker" in return.
Rep. Mary Miller introduces Rep. Sarah McBride as “The Gentleman from Delaware, Mr. McBride.”

Performative cruelty.
